Located at the northern part of the island, with a surface area of 23,78 Km 2 , at an altitude of 500 m and at a road distance of 58 Km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it has a dispersed population of 5 318.

To the east it limits with San Juan de la Rambla, to the west with Icod de Los Vinos and to the south with La Orotava. To the north, the coastline is full of cliffs, with some beaches.
